A little Bit About Me

Snowdonia Paintings by Phil Jackson

I have been painting Snowdonia for most of my life. However now that I live in Abergele I can paint this beautiful place on a regular basis. I love the DRAMATIC scenery. Mountains veiled in mist and snow, the silvering lakes and rippling rivers. Beams of light and colourful reflections, wonderful.

I am an active member of Wirral Society of Artists. I exhibit at a number of Galleries throughout North Wales, including Galeri Betwys-Y-Coed, Bodnant Gardens, Ian Dodgson Fine Arts, Framework and Crossroads Cafe.

I was drawing and painting from a very early age. Later I received prizes for winning Competitions and Exhibitions, including winning The Williamson Open and gaining 1st prize in the Urenco Art Competition, this included having my paintings exhibited in the Lowry Gallery Salford. I studied Art at Cheshire College and later I did 2 years at Halton College of Art and Design, gaining a B. Tech. with Distinctions. I earned a place at John Moores University but had to finish early due to family pressures. Art has been a great therapy and life saver for me. Losing my father when I was 12 years old, then later my son Paul and also more recently losing my daughter Sam.

Keep following the LIGHT.
